Did you ever wonder what was happening in the bible lands during the time that the major letters of the new testament were being written? We can read those letters today and get a picture of the guidance and teaching that was being given to the small home fellowships during that time period. What we don’t get from those letters is a fuller description of what was happening to the individuals who were part of those fellowships out in the major and minor cities of the Roman provinces at that time. Did they have to keep their beliefs undisclosed? Were they actively hunted down by the various city and providential authorities? Was there enmity between the Jewish communities and the early Jewish and Gentile followers of Yashua Messiah?
This series follows a young family of believers as they are forced by circumstances to move from place to place in the cradle of early Christianity centered in Roman-controlled Asia Minor in the first century. Their journey takes them through the seven cities mentioned in the Bible’s book of Revelation and describes how they daily worked to live out the teachings of scripture while being surrounded by people who faithfully worshiped hundreds of government-recognized gods. Those who would not accept those gods were, oddly enough, considered to be rebellious atheists.
